Communities in Schools

My name is Rachael Akin, and I'm the Program Manager for Communities in Schools of Tennessee here at Bledsoe County High School. I graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a bachelor's degree in Psychology and have been working in the Bledsoe County School System since 2022.

Through my role with Communities in Schools (CIS), I work directly on the BCHS campus to support students in reaching their full potential. CIS's mission is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. I'm grateful to be part of that mission every day.

CIS also partners with both school-based and local community resources to meet students' academic, social, emotional, and basic needs, helping them overcome barriers and succeed.

Passionate about student success and well-being, I am committed to building strong relationships and creating opportunities that make a lasting impact. I am honored to play a small part in helping our students succeed.
